EA have the ridiculous SecuROM game blocking on the PC games. Basically, it means you can only install the game on two computers. It is probably because the pirates will find a way to upload the game to a torrent website.

Valve has a game management program called Steam that you have to register your games with. You can’t play many Valve games unless you first register them with Steam. Steam requires an online connection, so any license keys that are entered are tracked.

Well the xbox for example my guess is they stop people from copying it easily by encrypting the game on the cd and the xbox decrypts it with unique software. Because if you haven’t noticed when you try putting an xbox game in a computer it doesn’t show up.
