If your whole family had no internet access, no tv and no electronic games?
????? Blondie ????? asked:
what would you all do?
what would you all do?
ideas such as read, play a board game, sing music, go a bike ride, have a chat, paint? or something else?
I think we all take for granted technology and need to use our imagination more. what do YOU think?

My family would have a deathmatch I think…..
Even with all that, we read alot, play board games, and ride our horses.
we would die
I would sit on the floor playing row row your boat with my 4 month old son all day.
I’ll walk around the streets and just stay Fresh there.
Listen to my ipod until it runs out of batteries.
Go shopping, go outside.
I would go to a friends house!! dey aint family.
We’d probably manage just fine with books, talking, music and so on :o)
we’ll all go crazy
we would find a way to access the internet, tv and electronic games
read a lot more then i do now.
and probably play more tennis or play football with my brothers.
and play cards.
I’d probably just exercise alone while my family complains about not having anything.
Yeah my computer was broken for a week so I mostly just read. I mean I do that anyway but more so for the past week. Oh and I played my piano for a couple hours everday.
That is the UNIMAGINEABLE lol!!!! basically we would chat, then probably argue!!! we could sing then probably laugh at each other!
I would then invite my boyfriend over as I would have more fun with him….
I’d just chill with my boyfriend all the time then.
We’d all start drinking and try to forget about not having those things.
we would all run wild through rainbows of magic carpets and flying convertible cars…
you said use your imagination, right?
We would end up killin each other, either out of boredom or someone would say something and well it wouldn’t be good =S Technology keeps my family civil :]
we’d be FREEEEEEEEEEEEE!!! yipeeeeeee!!!
I don’t know about anyone else, but I always read whenever I have free-time.
We did this last month as an experiment for the family. It’s funny how much closer you can become playing cards, board games and simply talking to one another. No wonder families from “way Back” had so few problems! I think everyone should try it once. You will be amazed at what you learn about yourself and the rest of your family!
It’s just me, so I would carry on reading more than I come online, watch tv, and such.
We do take technology for granted really, and then over-react way too much when it dies.
In my house we haven’t watched commerical TV in 2 1/2 years, we don’t have a computer (I’m using this at work), and no video games either. We talk, read, play, go out and actually live life! Imagine that! Actually living
you no that actually happened to my family once and my bros were out and my dad was asleep but my mom me and sisters just sang songs together and danced! it was actually really fun!!
I don’t take technology for granted I say my prayers to Samsung, Microsoft, and Sony every day! They even have a staring role in my grace at Thanksgiving…
most of my family would go crazy
but i would just try to stay out of the house as much as possible
like go for a walk or bike ride or something
idk get a pet
The world would be a better place. Less developed, but less problematic social issues would occur.
Without a doubt! Society in general is becoming detached, due to all the technology. We’re not interacting as we used to, and less activity!
On the flip side, Michael Phelps would have gotten only seven golds in Beijing!
Good Luck,
We don’t NEED to use our imagination more, that’s completely based upon the individual. “Technology” isn’t going anywhere, we won’t wake up in the morning to find all of our computers and iPods have up and disappeared.
On topic: I would read/be with my girlfriend, the computer isn’t my life, but it sure is great for killing time.
I think I would die of boredom. But your right, most people do take technology for granted including myself. And I also agree people should use their imaginations more, but technology has made people lazy.
talk on the phone
hi im katie u???
that how it was when i kid except we had t.v. and radio.
bike ride
swimming
farm chores
long walks where we actually talked to one another
ride horses on long trail longs
visit with and really get to know the neighbors
lots of reading
jigsaw puzzles
visit residents at the local nursing home
I agree. It’s the difference in our generation vs our parents. I would play with my daughter, read, scrapbook, clean, play outside, go to the park, arts and crafts.
We actually only have one tv and never turn it on. We are a family of readers. We also explore and listen to (and play) all types of music. We do watch movies - but we try classics, independent and foreign films. We play old board games. We also play a game called “dictionary” where we open up the dictionary and find a word. The actual definition is read - but everyone has to try to make up their own definition (before knowing what the real one is) - it gets quite amusing and hilarious at times. We also are a family of travelers and plan our trips carefully and study and learn about the places and the people in the regions we are going to visit. We plan short-trips to and cook and make picnic lunches and go to parks and historical places in and around our own home - there is a wealth of things to do once you pull all da plugs! lol
That’s basically how I grew up. We were only allowed two hours of t.v. a week. We didn’t own video games and there was nothing to do on the internet back then. Mind you I am only 30. I didn’t care, I played with my brothers and sisters. Now I only watch about 3 or 4 hours a week. I sit all day at work so why would I want to go home and sit all night too.
Camping, snorkeling, community service, family projects, bringing the family together without technology is difficult in today’s society. That is the major reason for dysfunctional families. The family that plays together, stays together.
I could go with TV and electronic games because I am not interested in either. However, internet access I couldn’t live without. Internet access is important to me. However, even if I didn’t have Internet access, I would be read books and magazines because I love to read.
Given that you just pretty much described the first 20 years of my life…
We read a great deal, biked and hiked a lot and played board games at least once a week.
When not doing family stuff, chores, homework, reading or the like, us kids were outside running around with all the other kids from the neighborhood, playing football, baseball, kick the can or just messing around. Sure, we’d go over to a friends house to watch TV or play computer games sometimes, but I never really felt I was missing all that much. Of course, given that we’re talking Colecovision and Commodore 64 games, maybe I wasn’t
I’d read a book. I have a huge selection in my sisters room. She has like, a library in there.
